About me

Hi, I’m Rachel! I’m a UX master’s student at MICA with a psychology degree from Northwestern University. My background gives me a deep understanding of how people think, feel, and interact with technology — and that’s what drives my design process.

With three years of experience and mentorship from industry leaders, I take a research-first approach to crafting intuitive, inclusive experiences that meet real user needs. I believe great design should feel effortless, empower users, and make tech more human.

What I Bring to the Table

Agile Work Experience

At Retina Care Group, I supported a cross-functional team working in an Agile setting. I contributed to weekly check-ins, shared ongoing research and design updates, and learned how to adapt my work based on quick feedback cycles. It gave me a practical look at how UX fits into fast-moving healthcare environments.

UX Research & Design

From discovery interviews to usability testing, research is at the heart of my process. I’ve led end-to-end design projects that combine qualitative insights and data to shape intuitive, user-centered experiences across web and mobile platforms.

Creative Problem Solving

I take a structured, analytical approach to problem-solving. I break down complexity, look for patterns, and stay focused on the bigger picture — while adapting quickly when things change. Whether the challenge is technical, strategic, or user-centered, I work toward solutions that are thoughtful, clear, and grounded in real needs.

Growth Mindset

Design is always evolving — and so am I. I see every project as an opportunity to grow, ask better questions, and sharpen my thinking. Feedback is central to my process, and I actively seek it out to push my work further. I’m committed to learning, improving, and staying curious — because great design demands it.
